The ICZM Evaluation Team of Rupprecht Consult
GmbH and the International Ocean Institute would like to thank
all Member State contacts for their hard work in coordinating
and developing the national reporting responses to the EU ICZM
Recommendation (2002/413/EC).
We would also like to thank the team of
evaluators covering all coastal European countries, involved in
assembling information and contracted to compile a comprehensive
assessment of each Member State's national ICZM reports.
On 18 August 2006, the Evaluation Team
submitted its Final Evaluation Report on the implementation of
and prospects for ICZM in the European Union to the European Commission.
The Final Evaluation Report will, in the
next months, be reviewed by the European Commission's ICZM Steering
and Expert Groups, and support them in reviewing the EU ICZM Recommendation
and in the development of the evaluation report due to the European
Parliament and Council at the end of 2006.
We appreciated being a part of this important
activity on the future of ICZM in Europe and look forward to future
prospects of continuing in the ICZM field.
On behalf of the Evaluation Team,
Debra Meyer Wefering, Evaluation Coordinator
